ANTH 400 : Theory and Ethics in Anthropology

This course offers students an in-depth look at historical and current trends in the theoretical frameworks and debates in the field of Socio-Cultural Anthropology. Beginning with the "founding fathers" of the discipline, the course traces the emergence of anthropology as a discipline, the development of the ethnographic method, and exposes students to current debates in the field concerning the ethics of anthropological research and ethnographic writing.
