PSYCH 300 : Cognitive Psychology

Cognitive psychology is the study of mental processes and how those processes affect behavior. Originally thought of as the “scientific study of knowledge”, cognitive psychology touches on all of the mental processes related to the acquisition, retention, and use of knowledge, including attention, perception, memory, language, problem-solving, and decision making. In general, this course is designed to help you learn: (1) how to turn big, imprecise questions about the human mind into concrete, empirical questions, and (2) how to find and evaluate scientific evidence to answer these questions. The class will include interactive lectures with live demonstrations, videos from experts in the field, weekly lab activities, and exams on course content.
